Week long update: Ready go

After getting back from paris the weekend was spent catching up on all the work we had not done while we were away. Between writing 15 pages of journal entries for art history, printmaking homework, and sorting through photos to prep for my photo project, Saturday and Sunday were a bit of a blur…

Monday was back to class and week 5 of classes here in Lacoste… After hearing the news about the aftermath of the hurricane in Savannah, we were all super thankful that we’re not in Savannah this quarter and escaped the tragic post-thanksgiving class schedule that everyone is subject to… (definitely dodged more than one bullet with that one) Morning photo class was a work day that turned into a work-afternoon. It was the first really rainy day we’ve spent here so I didn’t have a problem with spending the afternoon in the computer lab. Eventually it was time for printmaking, then dinner, and sleep

Tuesday started with breakfast and a run through the very foggy valley below Lacoste… after a quick workout and a shower and a little work, it was time for lunch and my second field trip to Roussillon for Art History. After getting back, Sophie and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather, so we headed up to the top of the hill by the chateau with a blanket and some snacks to journal and nap in the sun :) It was a lovely time despite the wind, 10/10 would do it again. After dinner the guest artist, Hugo Dalton, was having a lecture about his work, so we all hiked up the hill to Maison Forte to see it!

Wednesday was another day full of field trips..! Buoux in the morning for photo to hike up a mountain to see the medieval ruins on the top, back to Lacoste for lunch, and Roussillon (again) in the afternoon for Printmaking and then dinner. I got to FaceTime with Julie after getting back which was lovely, it’s always nice to catch up with people communicate with people other than the 90 people in this village and remember that there is a lot going on outside the tiny bubble that is Lacoste.

Today is Thursday and I have today off thanks to tomorrow’s (field trip friday) excursion to Avignon. So I took the morning to go on another run and workout, facetime with my mom, and spend some time journaling for photo. This afternoon we’re taking a trip to a French pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins for next weekend’s Halloween festivities, so that should be fun..! Hopefully when I get back I’ll be able to edit a couple pictures from yesterday’s field trips and update this post with them… but until then, I’ll talk to y’all after tomorrows adventures!
